Description
Kusunoki Masahige was an almost mythical Samurai Warrior who was called upon by Emperor Go-Daigo to defend against the Hojo Shogunate. The eventual overthrow of the Shogunate later transformed Japan from a feudal state to a more modern state, opening trade and travel with the West and was a pivotal point that led to the Japan we know today.

this kind of reminds me of that scene in Conan The Barbarian where Thulsa Doom is profiled in a same similar shadow effect. nice work.

Love this. It reminds me of my trip to Kyoto and visiting the Royal Palace there. Well done, Jeff, and congratulations on your sale.

Jeff, I like this beyond serious comment! The color and the warrior/horse and mood are just great. As is the drawing. I haven't seen anyone mention spray paint before. I just started experimenting with it on backgrounds. Need to control it better! The horse if almost metal! (No pun intended!). Great brushwork on it!
