Thanks, Alan

May 9th, 2009

Thanks to Alan B. Thomas for the opportunity to spread my work. Alan recently purchased a print of Mississippi John Hurt for the cover of his blues book. You can check it out at perkethpublications.com. It may not be Random House but it's something. Alan is trying to spread the word on early blues guitar styles and teach his own kind of art to the world, an art that is sadly dying as we move into an era of music that has long forgotten where it all started. Anyone that plays guitar might want to pick this book up. The cover art was donated to Alan, so this isn't an attempt to sucker in a few bucks for myself. This is an attempt to bring a little love back to the blues, which, as you can see be my profile portraits, I am a huge fan.

This Kid Needs Our Help

November 20th, 2008

A while back I made a promise to a young man's family to assist in any way I can. The young man is nine year old Nicholas Eaken who is suffering from a rare and fatal lymphoma. His family is in dire need of whatever help they can get. As of this moment I am personally about as poor as I've ever been, if not worse and I'm trying to use the only thing I know how to do to help this family and this young man. It has been made known that half of my earnings from any art sold will go to the Eaken family in an attempt to help them through this hard time but that knowledge has, until now, remained unknown to the fineartamerica community. This isn't some heartless and shady way to boost my sales and put more money in my pocket. This is merely an attempt at helping someone out, but sadly my financial status places me in a difficult position. If anyone would like to help or know more about Nicholas and his family, please visit the Myspace profile Nicholas Breaking News 911.
